Kati, the kids and I just completed 6 weeks travelling around British Columbia and the Canadian Rockies in a motor home ๐
We`ve done quite a lot of travel in the past but this was something else ..
Our passage started in Vancouver and the Fraser River, over to Vancouver Island criss crossed bottom to top, 16 hr Ferry from Port Hardy up the inside passage to Prince Rupert, across to Terrace and lava feild, down through central BC into Mount Robson, Jasper, Icedfeild Parkway (most unbelievable scenery ive ever seen) into Banff, then zig zagged from Kootenay down towards USA border back up to Camploops, Whistler etc and back into Vancouver once more.

Finn and I caught basically every fish on offer ๐
I termed it pokemon hunting, as we aimed to catch all species on our hit list =

PACIFIC Salmon - Chinook (spring), coho, chum, pink and sockeye (plus kokenee which are land locked sockeye)
Trout - cut throat, sea run cutties, rainbow, steel head
Char - bull trout, lake trout, brook trout, dolly varden
White Sturgeon
Halibut
Ling cod, flounder, surf perch and a multitude of Rock fish species

Finns giant buck chinook salmon in the first pick was the most incredible fish I`ve ever seen (and I`ve seen a few ๐) I swear you could see the entire universe along its massive flanks - mind boggling ๐คฏ
Crazy fishing at times.
Battling 4x giant Sturgeon to 300lb with Matty was nuts. These prehistoric mud marlin jump instantly on hook set and then go to war on 150lb braid and virtual lock up ๐ฌ AWESOME. (DM for guides contact)
Great time hooking big silver coho salmon doing back flips in a tiny tannin creek on a light travel stick.
Offshore fishing with Dean from @peninsulacharters was terrific landing a whole host of species in only half a day ๐ including chicken of sea (halibut) Ling cod, rock fish and salmon โ๏ธ๐ฃ
Wildlife included sea otters, orcas, golden eagles, elk, big horn sheep, chipmunks, porcupines, beavers and bald eagles ๐ฆ

As they`re a protected species I removed the hook from its lip and released the monster using our reef anchor as a release weight (it was suffering barotrauma and the standard size release weights are way too small) โ๏ธ๐

We had a great morning hunting #bluemarlin with Dr Jonathan and Jack a few days ago ๐
Incredible scenes unfolded 2 minutes into trolling when a fish over 150kg annihilated the only lure out - a @richterlures viper in short corner - and proceeded to do a 250m thrashing tail walking run before parting the (store bought) wind on leader from its Dacron sleeve ๐ช never heard it happening before!?
An hour later we trolled into the same area and had a hit on a profidgy - then it swam up a destroyed a Pakula Sprocket long corner.
When you see what these beasts are capable of its no wander they`re classed by many as the greatest sportfish of all.
Pure chaos of white water - big tail churning the surface and driving the crazed animal in a big ark over one line, and under the other. At one point I`m up on the plane trying to keep tight, a second later its out the back dumping hundreds of meters of line off the Makaira 80wide in one continuous jump..
Memorable for Dr Jon and Jack, I`m sure its all still sinking in ๐

We had fish launching out of the water everywhere from the Macleay mouth all the way to Grassy, quite a spectacle ๐
Lots of aerial strikes on stick baits (one day had more than 20) and fish slamming metals too. Made for some memorable and exciting #fishing for our clients ๐ฏ๐ฃ
